The last year and a half at Patrick’s Place has been a very important part of my two years of sobriety. This is a great place and everyone here has been very good to me, I have always been treated fairly and most importantly I have seen first-hand how much Patrick’s Places care about their residents and how well they treat them. This is a business that people often forget to say thank you. I don’t want this to be one of those times because I am thankful to you. I appreciate not only the opportunities, which have been a part of living here at Patrick’s Place, but also what I have learned from the house director, house manager and some of the residents living in our houses. Patrick’s Place is a great place to get on the road to recovery and I appreciate every minute I have spent here.

I have lived at Patrick’s Place for almost a year now.  I was sober and needed a place to live. I was on the streets, living on a piece of cardboard. My sponsor was aware of Patrick’s Place because he lived in one of the houses a few years ago.

Since living at Patrick’s Place things have changed. I am employed, pay my way, work the 12 Steps, sponsor other men, and have been reunited with my family.

Patrick’s Place is comfortable and stable and provides a community for recovering like-minded men.

I recommend Patrick’s Place for any man who needs to have a safe recovery residence to begin his new journey.

Let me start by saying I am a forty-something year old man from Ohio. Less than a year ago I was completely lost, miserable, alone, and a drunk. In my alcoholism I burnt many bridges and isolated myself. I lied, cheated and stole to get what I wanted…. Alcohol. I needed a change. I heard of “Patrick’s Place”, a sober living house. I was scared to give it a try, but I knew I needed a different path. I then made the necessary arrangements. Upon my arrival, I had no idea what to expect. Nervously, I knocked on the door. When the door opened, the door to my new life also opened. I was greeted with relaxed but genuine smiles. Everyone here has had similar experiences. In an instant I was no longer alone. It did not take long before I had true friends. Friends who would help and support me. This is a home not just a house! With the structure, a few simple and easy rules, everyone does their part and everything runs smoothly. I receive plenty enough space to feel independent, while at the same time, I am part of something greater. We all reply on each other. With this home and the guidance and help of AA, I am truly happy and sober with a true purpose in life.

I can honestly say, I have found myself. This was all made possible with Patrick’s Place, effort, and determination. If you are thinking of getting help, I strongly recommend giving Patrick’s Place a try. Trust me, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Resident and Friend,

I have been at Patrick’s Place for 7 months and it’s been a God-send. Since I’ve been here, I have grown in the program and personally. The house manager gave me hope and the house program has given me structure in daily living. My calamity went away when I started living here. I would recommend Patrick’s Place to anyone who is willing to work a 12 step program and join this sober living community.

I am currently in my 5th year living at Patrick’s Place as a house manager. When I first came to Patrick’s Place, I had no income, I was legally blind in both eyes, and I needed a home. Patrick took me in, helped me get on my feet, and was instrumental in helping me get an income. Living at Patrick’s Place has truly been a blessing. Anyone who is serious about following the house rules, working a 12-step program and being part of a sober living community will benefit from time at Patrick’s Place.
